This is a fiddle that is meticulously set up for 1860s authenticity but at a budget price.

At this price, the fiddle is not the finest violin available, but it doesn't sound bad, plays great and you won't mind taking it into the field. It is actually somewhat water-resistant, as it is finished with a linseed oil-based varnish. It is set up in our Roswell, GA workshop with imitation gut strings; however real gut strings are available and IT LOOKS GREAT for reenacting!

We even send you instructions on how to incise (scratch) markings such as your Regimental symbol, tick marks or stars for number of engagements, etc.

NOTE: The fiddle does not come with the fancy tuning pegs pictured unless you order them. It comes with plain ebony pegs.
