Tenor Banjo (Deluxe Irish Style No Resonator) 3 Tenor Banjo (Deluxe Irish Style No Resonator) 3
A proper open-back, short neck Irish Tenor Banjo by Gold Tone, incorporating the heavy-gauge strings necessary for the correct G D A E tuning.

Excellent tone and volume is a result of a quality White Ladye tone ring, thin maple rim, maple neck and quality components. MOP headstock inlay, hearts and flower position markers, two way adjustable truss rod, and chrome plated hardware are standard equipment. A resonator is an option, but we consider this instrument just fine without it. The lack of a resonator makes for a more traditional sound.

Tenor Banjo (Deluxe Irish Style with Resonator) 2 Tenor Banjo (Deluxe Irish Style with Resonator) 2
This is a new model of true Irish Tenor Banjo from Gold Tone that has bit more punch and volume, largely due to its resonator, than Gold Tone's top-of-the-line open-back Irish Tenor Banjo. This loud and powerful instrument has the proper short scale (19 3/4”), a 3 ply maple rim and cast brass tone ring, one piece flange and 14” resonator. Noted Irish Tenor Banjo players (as in from Ireland) helped in the design of this instrument, which was originally built as a custom instrument for a particular player.

Tenor Banjo (True Irish Style with Resonator by Gold Tone) Tenor Banjo (True Irish Style with Resonator by Gold Tone)
I love this instrument. It is a true Irish tenor banjo with a maple resonator. See the article on the Adventurous Muse blog, The Difference between Tenor Banjos and Irish Tenor Banjos for VERY important information about the differences between tenor banjos and Irish tenor banjos.
It is made by Gold Tone (model CC-IT), partially in Korea, hence the price, and completed in the U.S. It is very nicely set up by the Gold Tone in the U.S..
